After swim practice, I took Daddy out for his birthday. Digging his spoon into the mountain of ice cream he looks up and asks “So when is your next big event?”
I took a deep breath, forced a smile and looked down.
That’s all it took for him to completely understand.
See, all my events have been on meaningful dates chock filled with memories and emotion. LiveSTRONG Was on Donny’s birthday, Fiesta Marathon was on Mommas cancer surgery anniversary and so on… So the next big emotional day?
Stanley’s Triathlon will mark one year without Momma.
So if you are competing in Stanley’s or are in the audience and see tears roll down my cheeks but a smile in my face… You can stop wondering now.
