I was on the news today. Seems we have a bit of a pervert problem on our running trails. Now that my bike has been shipped off to Vegas already for Viva Bike Vegas, I’ll be spending more time on the trails. Times have changed though. More predators are out and about.

I WILL NOT LET THEM DEFEAT ALL THE WORK I HAVE DONE SO FAR BY DRIVING ME AWAY WITH FEAR.

I was on those trails first!

Thanks guys. Its tough being a girl running on these trails in the wee early hours of the day or in the dim dusk. You try so hard to make yourself a better person and creeps like this guy try to ruin it all. Already I’m seeing posts all over facebook that my regular runner girls aren’t going to use the trails. Fingers are pointing to police from everywhere but I’ve seen them each time I run and ride. Could we use MORE? Of course! But lets be realistic… we don’t have enough to patrol the trails and our border town nor do we have the ability to pay salaries for more police patrol. I’m no vigilante… but I would certainly do everything I could to protect myself if the situation led up to it.
